Independent consultant responsible for all aspects of consulting services, software and Web development, business management and company ownership. Business niche is providing high-quality consulting and outsourced management services to small- to mid-sized businesses, as well as high-technology startup companies.

1997-1999 Senior Project Manager
ESI Group, Inc., Springdale, AR and Little Rock, AR

Managed teams of engineers on projects primarily consisting of custom software and Web development, factory automation and HMI, desktop and network support services. Personal consulting clientele ranged from small businesses to managed care companies and large medical centers. Engagement times ranged from days to years. Major consulting focus was on software systems and the integration of disparate information systems. Experienced in managing in-house and outsourced software developers. 

1991-1997 Cofounder/Director/Corporate Department Head

Responsible for taking this company from an idea to an international ophthalmic software company known for easy-to-use, exceptional quality software products with excellent customer service and support. Built and managed the overall company as well as the entire lifecycles of four separate software product lines. Was promoted to corporate department head in charge of clinical outcomes products and managed care software systems after acquisition by Physicians Resource Group, Inc.

1988-1993 Computer Systems Engineer

Obtained accredited computer systems engineering degree (BSCSE) while being a husband and father, writing and publishing a mutual fund investing book, and cofounding a computer software company later known as McDonald Software Systems. Member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, College of Engineering Honor Roll, Dean's Honor Roll, Chancellor's List and recipient of several other awards for academic excellence. Graduated Cum Laude with an overall GPA of 3.64.

1986-1987 Biomedical Engineer
Washington Regional Medical System, Fayetteville, AR

Responsible for repair, testing and maintenance of over 2,000 pieces of hospital and laboratory equipment at multiple healthcare facilities.

1982-1986 Avionics Technician/Q. A. Inspector/Shift Supervisor
U.S. Navy, Memphis, TN and San Diego, CA

Responsible for electronic readiness of the Grumman E2-B and E2-C carrier-based early warning aircraft. Promoted to petty officer second class and earned the designations of Q.A. Inspector, Shift Supervisor, and Assistant Squadron Duty Officer. Obtained secret clearance and was responsible for daily cryptology keying and security. Received numerous commendations, meritorious awards and ribbons.
